Established in 1960, Plaistow Broadway Filling Stations has a wealth of experience in operating petrol filling stations and convenience stores in the South of England. We are proud to work closely with some of the UK’s leading suppliers, including Budgens, Nisa, Texaco and Esso, as well as several local suppliers. This ensures we are able to offer our customers great value and excellent services as well as supporting our local communities. We are continuously striving to improve and develop our sites, so we can provide our customers with the best shopping experience.
All our retail properties are situated in the South of England, from Stock, Essex to Seaton, Devon and offer an extensive fresh and ambient range, food to go and great brands such as Costa coffee, National Lottery and COOK Frozen Meals. Most sites also offer produce from various local producers such as New Forest Shortbread and Lyme Bay Butchers.
In 2018 we invested in Edge Petrol, a real-time fuel platform, which enables us to monitor our sales and margin as well as our competitors fuel prices. Having Edge Petrol ensures we are always able to offer our customers good value for their fuel.
Our team are very important to us, and we are proud to have paid the Real Living Wage to all employees 18+ since April 2022. Employee wellbeing and retention at PBFS is a core focus, with some having worked with us for 10 years+. We continually look for progression opportunities as well skilled recruitment to ensure our teams are consistently highly skilled to offer the best service possible. It is extremely important to us to ensure all of our employees on site create a friendly environment for our customers, both regular locals and those travelling through the popular tourist areas.
We regard our sites as part of the local community and are pleased to support a number of fund-raising campaigns which is detailed in our Community section.
Our aim is to acquire more petrol stations in the south of England and we are always looking for suitable sites. We are well placed to acquire sites given Daniel was previously a property solicitor and has a good understanding of all legal matters and how to secure bank funding. This enables us to take a pragmatic approach to overcome any legal obstacles during the process. In addition, Liam’s experience as a surveyor enables him to accurately value a petrol station and support his view in discussions with a bank valuer. We have recently acquired two family-owned petrol stations and worked with the vendors throughout the process, having regular updates and discussing any issues direct to save legal costs for both us and the seller. We were also able to provide the vendors with assurances in respect of their staff as we always look to work with the existing staff rather than bringing a new team in.
